Frequently known within the industry as a liner, a geomembrane is an impervious synthetic material that is used to contain fluids or gasses. Geomembranes primarily serve as a barrier or shield that prevents various contaminates from spilling or leaking into the soil and groundwater.
Geomembranes are utilized across various industries including waste management, industrial, energy, oil and gas, agriculture, transportation, and mining. They line landfills, reservoirs, ponds, tanks, canals, dams, sewers, roads, and highways.
HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) Geomembranes are the most widely used liners in the world. HDPE liners provide the highest resistance to chemicals and have excellent ultraviolet resistant properties. Polyethylene liners are fusion welded and air pressure tested.
LLDPE (Liner Low Density Polyethylene) Geomembranes offer great flexibility in addition to resistance to low temperatures and ultraviolet exposure. LLDPE liners are easier to elongate or adapt to their environment, which allow for higher impact and puncture resistance.
Polypropylene combines excellent elasticity, elongation, cold temperature stability, UV stability, and chemical defense in one material. Polypropylene allows for some of the most flexible fabricated geomembranes. Large panels can be factory prefabricated for ease of installation.
Flexible Polyvinyl Chloride films (PVC) have been used in geomembrane applications for over 60 years. PVC, a flexible, elastic material, offers oil resistance, UV stability, low-temperature protection, and excellent puncture resistance. Utilizing a factory prefabricated PVC geomembrane reduces field seaming and overall construction time, producing cost savings for your project.
XR-5®, a proprietary resin blend produced by Seaman Corporation for over 40 years, is the highest-strength and most chemically resistant geomembrane on the market. Engineered for the toughest applications, XR-5®contains and protects against acids, oils, methane, and alkalis.
Some of these applications include floating covers, leachate ponds, tank floors, process and wastewater ponds, as well as secondary containment. XR-5® is flexible and can be prefabricated in large panels, allowing for efficient installation.
CSPE, commonly known as Hypalon, is a reinforced flexible and durable geomembrane that offers excellent resistance to chemicals, temperature, UV degradation, as well as organic and inorganic chemicals. Similar to Polyethylene, PVC, and XR-5®liners, Hypalon is prefabricated in large panels, allowing for swift deployment and time saving installation. Having a long-standing history in the industry, Hypalon has often been specified in the fabrication of floating covers.

A Geocomposite is a manufactured material that combines geotexitles and a core geonet. It is engineered to substitute one to two feet of costly, traditional aggregate while producing drainage under various conditions, such as site loads or slopes.
Talk to us about our Geocomposites and how we can incorporate them into your next project.
Geosynthetic Clay Liners (GCLs) combine geotextiles and sodium bentonite clay to form a hydraulic barrier layer equal to two feet of natural clay. Often installed as a secondary or supportive layer to geomembranes, the primary function of a GCL is containment as a barrier to water, leachate or other liquids, and gases. The ability to quickly roll out a factory produced GCL layer provides a significant time and cost savings over natural clay.
Ask us if one of our Geosynthetic Clay Liners is suited for your next project.
Geotextiles are permeable fabrics made from chemically-resistant synthetic fibers. They are engineered for filtration, soil stabilization, separation, erosion control, drainage and gas transmission, cushion and liner protection applications. Geotextiles provide exceptional durability along with high-puncture resistance, transmissivity, and permittivity.

Traditional landfill covers rely on trucking in heavy drainage and vegetative soils, that are subsequently placed on top of a geomembrane. ClosureTurf® is an EPA, Subtitle D Compliant landfill closure solution designed to solve age-old problems like soil erosion, slope integrity, gas emissions, installation and maintenance costs, EPA regulations, and longevity. ClosureTurf® is a licensed, three-component system consisting of a structured geomembrane, an engineered turf, and a specialized infill. The engineered turf gives the system a natural look and feel while protecting the geomembrane from extreme weather conditions. The specialized sand infill placed between the turf’s blades allows the system to be trafficked while providing extra shelter from weathering. ClosureTurf® is a fast and easy landfill closure solution.

HDPE pipe, a strong, flexible, long-lasting plastic pipe, is used for fluid and gas transfer.
The many benefits of HDPE pipe, including corrosion, abrasion and chemical resistance, leak tight seals, high strain allowance, and excellent flow characteristics, allow for reduced installation costs as well as peace of mind. HDPE pipe is ideal for a wide range of applications including landfill, municipal, industrial, energy, geothermal, and marine.

The GeoStorage® System is an underground stormwater detention system. Already established municipal engineering systems are combined to create chambers on-site with stone, geosynthetics, and reinforced concrete. While the unique arrangement solves many of the technical challenges facing workers on site, GeoStorage® also offers unique and valuable features. The large open chambers’ effectiveness is increased by the porosity of the reinforced stone border walls, which significantly lowers the cost of stormwater storage.
Ask us how to incorporate this system into your next project.
Geogrids are designed to provide a quick, long-term answer for stabilizing and strengthening subbases of roads and worksites. Geogrid also reduces the thickness of aggregate base layers. Geogrids restrict stone and soil particles to limit lateral shearing. Vehicular and material loads are spread over a larger surface area to reduce the pressure applied to the subgrade.
Wind Defender is a strengthened geotextile windscreen made of knitted, green, UV maintained HDPE fiber. Wind Defender is used as a counterweight system to protect underlying geosynthetics from wind damage and extended UV exposure. It is easy to install, demands little to no maintenance, improves the life-span of underlying geosynthetics, and improves site aesthetics. The system is designed for short to mid-term cover applications like landfill cell covers, temporary caps, and several stockpile covers.

Through a honeycomb-like network, 3D geocells restrain and stabilize dirt that would be shifting under loading. Geocells are an efficient and economical way to fast-build unpaved roadways and retaining walls, maintain erosion control of slopes, and move stormwater to various channels. Many of our clients incorporate geocells into their projects.
